What kind of juices and diets does a lemon detox diet promote? How many liquids? Are they satisfying? Can they replace normal food? How will they help me achieve my weight goals?

These are some of the many questions asked by people before starting out on a lemon detox diet. Aside from the diet itself, some foods and substances will have to be substituted for our normal food in order to make the whole thing work. But what are they? And more importantly, how can they help you and your diet?

Here are a few items that you might encounter throughout a lemon detox diet:
  • Lemon Juice – In addition to flushing out of wastes through its acid content, this drink can also be absorbed more efficiently into one’s bloodstream, thus allowing the digestive tract the opportunity to cleanse itself more effectively.
  • Cayenne Pepper and Ginger – Taking these ingredients throughout your diet will help speed up your metabolism, which will of course, help clean up toxins from your body more effectively.
  • Herbal Laxatives – A more efficient bowel movement is an important goal for any detox diet and a necessary part of cleaning up one’s digestion. In the lemon detox diet, ingestion of herbal laxatives and teas, like peppermint, is the means of achieving this goal.
  • Fluids – Whether it’s salt water or clean fresh water, taking a lot of fluids will play a vital role in any detox diet. 8 glasses of water a day is important for a person who is on a diet. Aside from the health benefits, it also keeps you hydrated and aids in cleaning one’s body.
  • Natural Tree Syrup – Tree syrup, like Maple syrup for example, contains a lot of nutrients, vitamins and minerals that can aid your body function normally, while at the same time, sustaining the detox diet despite the absence of normal foods and solids. However, the full list of benefits and information of natural tree syrup can be better explained by those who are well acquainted with lemon detox diets, so consult the proper dietitians before buying any products.
Take note that a lemon detox diet only lasts about a week and so it’s best that you get these supplies in excess of that time frame. Remember that after the diet, the body needs to be eased back into its normal eating pattern. Likewise, take some time adjust your metabolism on the diet before undertaking it completely.

I have been struggling with weight problems for many years. Although Im not overly obese, I am far from where I want to be weight wise.

In my search to get a product or diet that could help me I have also tried many different diets and products and some worked better than others. One thing I have learned is that whatever you do you should never never starve yourself. Your body goes into a total fat storage frenzy that takes great effort to reverse.

The people at OptimalBodyWeight.com (a website I enjoy and trust) wrote a good article on this matter and how it relates to the Lemon Detox Diet, check it out.

    Good Luck
